How to Make a Shelf with a Wooden Gallery Rail

We are currently refreshing the laundry room and I am slowly completing a project to update this space. We finished it almost 7 years ago and it is one of the most used rooms in our house (after the kitchen). But now that we have 3 kids and my style has evolved, it’s time for some changes! My latest project is to make a shelving with wooden gallery rails and I’m here to share all the details with you!

How to Make a Wooden Gallery Rail Shelf

When we first finished the laundry room, we put a shelf against the wall above the washer and dryer that was about 5 feet long. I don’t know why I decided on that length or why I didn’t extend it all the way to the wall. It was the start of my design journey and the laundry room was the first room I ever designed from top to bottom!

A $2 million renovation is planned for the Langley Library

Change is on the horizon for Whidbey Island’s oldest library.

The Langley Library, which has been part of Village by the Sea for almost a century, will receive a much-anticipated update in the new year regarding the building’s accessibility and functionality.

The $2 million renovation project, which could start as early as February, will make better use of the library space downstairs and create meeting space for the public, among other things.

In 2021, the Sno-Isle Library received a $700,000 capital-boosting grant from the state for the project. In addition, the library system contributed $1.2 million and Friends of the Langley Library raised $30,000.

Since 2022, representatives from the Sno-Isle Library have met with members of the community, Langley City Council, the city’s Design Review Board, and the Historical Preservation Commission to gather input on proposed renovation plans.

Sno-Isle Library Deputy Director David Durante said nearly 50 people attended the

Multi-million dollar renovation project underway at Temple Garden Hotel & Spa – DiscoverMooseJaw.com

A multi-million dollar renovation project has started at Moose Jaw’s Temple Garden Hotel & Spa.

Peepeekisis Cree Nation acquired the facility in September 2022. Saskatoon-based Globex Management has assumed day-to-day operations of the hotel.

Alex Fallon is the president and CEO of Sparrow Hawk Developments, an economic development corporation formed by Peepeekisis Cree Nation.

He says renovations will take place in all 181 rooms, with 60 rooms expected to be completed this year.

“We’re stripping them and demolishing the interior of the rooms down to the bare bones and then renovating all the rooms to a new very luxurious level,” he continued. “Everything from heating and plumbing, new bathrooms, carpet, the walls, the in-room entertainment. All the furnishings will be brand new, window coverings, and we even want to get to the hallways.”

The renovations will see the downtown hotel “reimagined in a contemporary style that pays tribute to the

Christina Hall’s Clients Endured a 3-Month Renovation Nightmare

Renovations always come with risks. On a new episode of HGTV’s Christina on the CoastChristina Hall’s clients faced some pretty brutal issues—including one that required them to live in their Huntington Beach, California, home with a partially open roof for three months.

The nearly year-long renovation involved transforming the homeowners’ closet and the crawl space behind it into a big primary bathroom. That required raising the ceiling and redoing the roof to increase the square footage. Mike Rose, Christina’s go-to contractor on the show, explained that a mistake in the plans was going to create what he estimated to be a two-week delay. It ended up being…three months.

It turned out the engineer the team was using for the project assumed the floor joists ran in one direction. In reality, they went a different way. Because of that, Rose’s team had planned the framing inaccurately. They had to stop

Halifax Forum renovation plans push forward

Halifax Regional Council is pushing forward with a site and building plan for the possible redevelopment of the Halifax Forum.

On Tuesday night, the council directed the chief administrative officer to provide more details on the potential project, shortly.

“I think we have to bite the bullet on this and get something done,” said Halifax Major Mike Savage.

Two years ago, the cost to tear down and rebuild the Forum facility, which included two rinks and two community halls, was roughly $80 million.

It has now soared to $110 million.

Savage said the city needs to make a decision soon.

“The only thing that scares me more than $110 million today is what it might be in two years if we don’t do something,” said Savage.

Neil Samson has been using the Forum parking lot as a taxi stand for the past 35 years.

When Samson first heard of the

Renovation work concludes on 355 King Street West | Queen’s Gazette

Much of Queen’s University’s administration is now officially housed at 355 King Street West, with renovations and most relocations to the site now complete. The consolidation of administrative units in the new building will allow the university to free up and renovate more space in the central campus for academic and research-focused purposes.

The university renovated and is occupying three wings of the former St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital building (areas previously known as the South, East and Sister’s wings). These wings are now home to Financial Services, Investment Services, Internal Audit, Campus Security and Emergency Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Insurance and Risk Management, Strategic Procurement Services, Postal Services, Facilities, and the Office of the Vice-Principal Research.

The university bought the site from Providence Care in 2017, and construction started in 2021. Environmental sustainability was a key consideration in the work that was done. The project adapted the

ODOT Reveals Proposed Renovation of I-44 Interchange in Catoosa

Many people say the I-44 to Highway 412 junction needs to be overhauled and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation agrees. ODOT held a meeting to show people the two different options.

OPTION ONE:

In option one, the option ODOT preferred, I-44 would straighten three lanes in each direction.

ODOT says it will allow for increased speed and will add a two-lane road from I-44 east to SH-66 NB exit right.

The exit will be across the top of I-44.

That will reconnect the 193 to 66 north.

Option 1 was the preferred alternative because I-44 WB was straight, I-44’s design speed was 75 mph, a right-hand exit from I-44 EB to SH-66 NB was desired, and a 193rd East Avenue connection to SH-66 NB was included.

OPTION TWO:

Option two will be similar to the current layout.

I-44 WB curves with a speed limit of 65mph.

I-44 EB is a

The renovation and expansion of Canton’s Golden Key Center is moving forward

In partnership with The Repository, every Monday, the Stark Community Foundation highlights positive events in our community. Here’s to Good News Monday!

The Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children is on its way to serve more local students with special needs with a $2.5 million renovation and expansion.

The Golden Key is a non-public, not-for-profit special needs school that provides quality education and intervention services to preschoolers through eighth graders with autism and other cognitive disabilities. Students from 13 of Stark County’s 18 school districts attend The Golden Key, but enrollment is limited due to available school space. The school is at maximum capacity with a growing waiting list of families who need its services, making this renovation and expansion project important to our community.
