11 Things I Bought for Our Kitchen (Decor and Organization)

I’ve been trying to get some paint colors done for the painters so I’ve been working on that, but in the meantime, I can’t wait to break out some of the stuff I’ve been saving for our kitchen! I’ll be sharing some of them today!

The good news is that we’ll probably be able to “move in” to the kitchen this week, although there are still some details to be finalized as well as ongoing projects around the house (like our deck, living room/mudroom). /entrance/painted stairs, new wooden stair treads and upstairs, plus Tiny Cottage!).

If you missed my last revamp update, you can see it here.

Following much trial and error, one tenacious The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player managed to build an impressive three-floor house in spite of some notable restrictions imposed on the game’s home construction mechanics. They swiftly took online to showcase their achievements, having done so just as some fans began speculating that a Tears of the Kingdom DLC announcement is imminent.

Whether it’s because the fandom called for Tears of the Kingdom to make better use of Link’s house or another reason, the new Zelda game completely revamped the home-building mechanics from Breath of the Wild. The end result of that effort is a much more powerful system that allows players to build and customize their dream Hyrule home with some help from a few familiar faces.

The Cal Poly library is undergoing a $77 million renovation. What was it like in the 1970s?

Renovation

Fun fact: Cal Poly did not have a dedicated library building until 46 years after classes were first held on campus in San Luis Obispo in 1903.

Then known as the California Polytechnic School, a three-year secondary school, the future university had a modest start.

Cal Poly’s first library was next door to Cal Poly Director Leroy Anderson’s office in the original 1903 administration building. His secretary doubled as librarian.

In 1916, the library moved to the second floor of the science building later called Anderson Hall.

It was relocated to classroom units near the center of campus in 1939.

The library’s next stop was the second floor of the clock tower building, where it occupied six classrooms. That structure is now known as the Cotchett Education Building.

When the Dexter Library opened in September 1949, it was a $700,000 statement that the college was growing.

The library was named

White House pushes for renewal of electronic surveillance law provision | Biden administration

The White House is stepping up pressure on lawmakers to renew a section of electronic surveillance law which permits the government to conduct targeted surveillance of foreign persons located outside the US.

The provision, known as section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (Fisa), is set to expire at the end of the year. But its renewal is facing pushback from privacy advocates and lawmakers, some citing examples in which law enforcement search requests were misused to conduct illegal surveillance on US citizens.

On Monday, Joe Biden’s administration circulated examples showing the US had used electronic surveillance under section 702 to catch fentanyl smugglers as well as the ransomware hackers who temporarily shut down the Colonial Pipeline Company in a 2021 cyber-attack that led to gas shortages along the eastern seaboards.

The public campaign to build support for the provision comes as a poll released last week showing that

Whitehorse’s Beringia Center reopens after 5-month renovation

Whitehorse’s Beringia Interpretive Center re-opens its doors this weekend after a five-month closure for renovations — and visitors are being promised a more engaging and interactive experience of Yukon’s Ice Age history.

“Change was a constant thing in the Yukon in the past,” said territorial government paleontologist Grant Zazula, who was involved in the facility’s overhaul.

“Extinction, survival and change through time was really what we wanted to get across.”

The center, just off the Alaska Highway, is home to skeletons, fossils, and other exhibits that aim to tell the story of life in the Yukon through the ages. Beringia refers to the land bridge that once connected Alaska and Siberia, over which humans and wildlife migrated into North America tens of thousands of years ago.

A large building is seen from the outside with a sign on the outside saying 'Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre.'
