Katherine Thewlis didn’t let being a renter stop her from tackling the kitchen in her 1,200-square-foot Johnson City, Tennessee, home last fall. The e-designer and blogger was more than ready to say goodbye to the many features within the space, which included what she called an Easter egg yellow hue, wood paneling, and linoleum floors. However, given that she wouldn’t be able to take on a major renovation, Katherine had to get creative. She needed to keep the kitchen’s original flat panel cabinets intact for storage purposes but did give them a major facelift. “I sanded and repainted them myself to match the wall paint color,” she says. “I wanted it to have a built-in look. I purchased some

After over five years of calling the place home, the couple is putting the four-bedroom property on the market for $649,000.

One of the main reasons why the couple bought the house was because of how convenient it was for them to commute to work, Rogers said. But after the pandemic, everything changed.
“Our jobs went full-time remote, and all of a sudden we weren’t in New York City anymore, ever,” Rogers said. “And we started thinking about if there was somewhere else we could live.”
Even though they live in an area with lots of conveniences nearby, including the grocery store, coffee shops, and even bars, it wasn’t the same as being in the city, she said.
“It was a really big shift for us to just be in our home and in the suburbs 24/7,” Rogers said. “So we
Construction work at Bramalea GO Station was finally wrapped up after multiple phases of improvements and years of planning to make it easier for those in Peel Region to connect with other stops on the Kitchener Line.
Some of the major upgrades include a brand-new accessible station building, a parking garage with over 2,000 spaces, and a new bus loop with 18 new platforms for GO Transit and Brampton Transit.
Other amenities at the upgraded station include new passenger pick-up and drop-off zones, covered bicycle parking, an emergency call system, improved lighting, and more than 100 cameras for enhanced security.
Exiting the station northbound to Bramalea Road has also been streamlined, with a new exit directly from the parking garage leading to the signalized intersection.

We are currently refreshing the laundry room and I am slowly completing a project to update this space. We finished it almost 7 years ago and it is one of the most used rooms in our house (after the kitchen). But now that we have 3 kids and my style has evolved, it’s time for some changes! My latest project is to make a shelving with wooden gallery rails and I’m here to share all the details with you!

When we first finished the laundry room, we put a shelf against the wall above the washer and dryer that was about 5 feet long. I don’t know why I decided on that length or why I didn’t extend it all the way to the wall. It was the start of my design journey and the laundry room was the first room I ever designed from top to bottom!

CHARLOTTETOWN — Parks Canada says renovations and repairs to Prince Edward Island’s legislature will take longer than expected.
The building was supposed to reopen some time this year after eight years of renovations and repairs, but the federal agency now says that won’t happen.
The conservation project, which started in 2015, has cost the federal government $91.8 million so far, and the bills are still coming in.
Parks Canada has issued a statement saying the bids it received for the third phase of the project were higher than expected, which prompted a new round of tenders.
The third phase calls for interior painting, heritage woodwork and new flooring, as well as a new elevator and upgrades for plumbing, electrical, ventilation and fire and safety systems.
As well, plans call for the installation of green energy initiatives, including a “closed loop geothermal wellfield” to be used for the building’s heating and
The Power of Energy Efficient Renovations: Why Building Upgrades Are Key to Fighting Climate Change

Renovations are not only a popular way to update and modernize homes, offices and other structures but also a critical component in reducing carbon emissions and achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement. The existing building stock is responsible for a significant portion of global carbon emissions, with energy inefficient buildings being a major contributor.
According to a report by the Financial Times, there is a large energy efficiency gap in the UK housing stock, with many buildings falling short of their potential energy performance levels. Unsurprisingly, old buildings in the UK are seen as one of the primary factors contributing to this

Fifty West Brewing Co. recently announced the highly anticipated reopening of Brewpub in Columbia Township, in the greater Cincinnati area. The full-service restaurant, now under the direction of renowned Cincinnati Chef Jackson Rouse, formerly of Bauer Farm Kitchen, promises to bring back the authentic dining experiences customers love.
After an eight year tenure, Fifty West Brewpub closed temporarily in 2020 due to financial and operational pressures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fifty West team then turned their focus across the street to their family-friendly concept, Burger Bar. Spacious outdoor beer gardens complete with walkup order windows and fast food service are proving to be a far superior path to weather the storm of the pandemic. While Burger Bar was met with great enthusiasm and success, many brewery enthusiasts have consistently voiced their desire for a return to the original restaurant and brewery.
“Fifty West was humbled to be founded from
