Tim Allen Says Home Improvement Son Zachary Ty Bryan ‘Corrupted’

Posted on 23/02/2026 By Kartika
Home Improvement

Tim Allen showed compassion for the actor who played his son on Home Improvements for eight seasons in the 1990s, but he didn’t try to defend him.

Zachery Ty Bryan played oldest son Brad Taylor on the hit 1990s ABC sitcom. The show ended as he turned 18, and a long profile in the Hollywood Reporter details how he stayed out of trouble for the most part, until recently.

Alcohol-related arrests, a domestic violence charge and accusations of swindling friends out of tens of thousands of dollars now follow Bryan. The interview closes with the 41-year-old admitting to a lifelong struggle with alcohol and an update that closes the domestic assault charge from 2020 — he pled guilty to two misdemeanors, fishing and fourth-degree assault and still lives with the woman — but leaves a conclusion for victims of his alleged digital token scam still out of money.

Home Improvement

If you’re a DIY beginner and you’re not sure where to start, Shane Duffy has a few easy project recommendations. First, he says painting is one of the simplest ways to update your home. “Painting is easy, and anybody can do it,” he told Realtor.com. “The barriers to entry to painting are just getting a paintbrush and a roller and doing it.” Another easy project? Building wooden pallet furniture, like a bed frame or an outdoor bench, which he demonstrated on Fox News. This could easily be done by stacking the pallets and connecting them with screws.

Once you’ve mastered some of these easy projects, you can then move on to harder ones, like feature walls. “When it comes to more skilled crafts, for example, doing a slat wall, like a wood feature wall, you’re going to have to invest in some tools,” he explained. However, he added, “If you

Home Improvement

Spring is kickoff season for many kitchen remodels, bathroom updates and deck repairs, but recent economic turmoil may have homeowners questioning their home improvement plans.

Spending on home renovations is expected to slow this year because of factors such as declining home sales and values, rising interest rates, continuing inflation and rumblings of a coming recession, says Abbe Will, senior research associate with Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies.

As economic growth slows down, planning and prioritizing will be key to remodeling confidently. Here are five tips to help you remodel in an uncertain economy.

Even when the economy is doing well, it’s ideal to have an emergency fund before starting a remodel, says Eric Maldonado, a certified financial planner based in San Luis Obispo, California.

“What you’re trying to avoid is starting with nothing saved, taking out debt to afford these things and not really providing yourself with

3 Strong Home Improvement Stocks to Buy in May

Home Improvement

Rising interest rates and elevated inflation have weighed on home improvement spending as consumers have become increasingly price sensitive. However, with the likelihood of a hike rate pause in sight, home improvement demand is expected to rebound.

Amid this backdrop, it could be wise to invest in quality home improvement stocks, The Sherwin-Williams Company (SHW), Frontdoor, Inc. (FTDR), and Steelcase Inc. (SCS), this month.

While inflationary pressures and higher mortgage rates have deterred consumers from moving into a new home, undertaking home improvement projects seem more pocket-friendly. Last year, Americans spent an average of $8,484 on home improvement projects, reflecting a 2% increase from the pandemic era, per Angi’s 2022 State of Home Spending report.

However, with inflation moderating over the past few months and a strong labor market, experts remain optimistic about the industry’s prospects. Ben Johnston, chief operating officer at Kapitus,

Home Depot Cuts Outlook as Softening Demand Hits Sales

Home Improvement

(Bloomberg) — Home Depot Inc. cut its outlook for the year after first-quarter sales dropped more than expected, a sign that economic uncertainty is leading to a pullback in home-improvement spending.

Most Read from Bloomberg

The company now expects comparable sales to decline as much as 5% this fiscal year — the first annual fall in 14 years — following a bad start to the year affected by lumber deflation and poor weather, it said Tuesday. Home Depot, which previously predicted sales would remain flat this year, said demand was softening more than it had expected.

The first-quarter results show the company’s performance is starting to lag after several years of soaring home-improvement spending that was sparked by a booming housing market and stimulus payments that let consumers invest in their homes during pandemic restrictions. That binge has now begun to slow amid rising inflation and interest rates.

New York

—

Home Depot couldn’t keep its protracted robust sales streak going any longer. The home improvement chain reported a small quarter as consumer spending on home improvement projects – which was buoyed by the stay-at-home pandemic lifestyle – coming to a screeching halt.

The retailer posted disappointing sales for its first quarter and lowered its outlook for the year after customers slowed their spending. Home Depot (HD) said sales fell 4.5% at least a year at stores open during its latest quarter, and its income decreased 6.4% from the same stretch a year ago.

Total revenue for the quarter slipped 4.2% versus a year ago, to $37.3 billion. The retailer also cited falling lumber prices and weather-related challenges, including heavy rains in California during the period, to clink its sales.

“After a three-year period of unprecedented growth for our sector, during which we grew sales by over
