
Joseph Jenkins, 56, of Middletown was arrested last week following an investigation into home improvement fraud.
On October 17, 2022, an officer from the New Castle County Police Division was dispatched to a residence in the Village of Bayberry North community in the Middletown borough. A 41-year-old man reported that he paid Jenkins to complete renovations to his residence. He reported that Jenkins made an offer of $18,625.00 with an initial deposit of $8,000. The victim paid $8,000. However, no work was carried out, despite multiple investigations, police said.
After further investigation, Jenkins was arrested and charged. with one count of home improvement fraud crimes. Jenkins was also charged on a separate felony home improvement fraud warrant stemming from a 2019 investigation. Jenkins was charged, with bail set at $12,000. Jenkins was then taken to the Howard R Young Penitentiary, Wilmington.
