A three-plus-one-bedroom, four-bathroom semi in the Junction that just underwent a big-time renovation. It has a separate one-bedroom basement apartment and a new two-car garage with a panel that can support an EV charger.

Gord Harrison, a contractor, initially purchased this 100-year-old property, for $1 million in February of 2021, as a home for his young family. He brought in his friend Shawn Chua, with whom he had partnered on a dozen previous renos, to share the load. But, a year into the job, they discovered a rat’s nest of problems: poor insulation, asbestos and a basement floor that required re-pouring. Toronto-area transit station completes major renovation with lots of upgrades

Construction work at Bramalea GO Station was finally wrapped up after multiple phases of improvements and years of planning to make it easier for those in Peel Region to connect with other stops on the Kitchener Line.

Some of the major upgrades include a brand-new accessible station building, a parking garage with over 2,000 spaces, and a new bus loop with 18 new platforms for GO Transit and Brampton Transit.

Other amenities at the upgraded station include new passenger pick-up and drop-off zones, covered bicycle parking, an emergency call system, improved lighting, and more than 100 cameras for enhanced security.

Exiting the station northbound to Bramalea Road has also been streamlined, with a new exit directly from the parking garage leading to the signalized intersection.

ODOT Reveals Proposed Renovation of I-44 Interchange in Catoosa

Many people say the I-44 to Highway 412 junction needs to be overhauled and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation agrees. ODOT held a meeting to show people the two different options.

OPTION ONE:

In option one, the option ODOT preferred, I-44 would straighten three lanes in each direction.

ODOT says it will allow for increased speed and will add a two-lane road from I-44 east to SH-66 NB exit right.

The exit will be across the top of I-44.

That will reconnect the 193 to 66 north.

Option 1 was the preferred alternative because I-44 WB was straight, I-44’s design speed was 75 mph, a right-hand exit from I-44 EB to SH-66 NB was desired, and a 193rd East Avenue connection to SH-66 NB was included.

OPTION TWO:

Option two will be similar to the current layout.

Looted Monastery Manuscripts Rediscovered During Office Renovation

In 2008, Swann Auction Galleries in Manhattan sold three Greek-language manuscripts from the 16th and 17th centuries to an antiquities dealer who returned them two years later after concluding they might have been looted.

The dealer was reimbursed but the auction house, its officials said, was unable to reach the person who had consigned the items. So they sat on a shelf for more than a decade, all but lost in the shuffle of daily operations.

Three months ago, though, the manuscripts were resurfaced when Swann’s chief financial officer went through his office before a renovation. There on a shelf in a long-forgotten plastic bag were the manuscripts, which are believed to have been stolen from a Greek monastery in the midst of World War I.

They are thought to have been lost in 1917 when Bulgarian combatants are said to have plundered nearly 900 items from the Theotokos Eikosiphoinissa

Halifax Forum renovation plans push forward

Halifax Regional Council is pushing forward with a site and building plan for the possible redevelopment of the Halifax Forum.

On Tuesday night, the council directed the chief administrative officer to provide more details on the potential project, shortly.

“I think we have to bite the bullet on this and get something done,” said Halifax Major Mike Savage.

Two years ago, the cost to tear down and rebuild the Forum facility, which included two rinks and two community halls, was roughly $80 million.

It has now soared to $110 million.

Savage said the city needs to make a decision soon.

“The only thing that scares me more than $110 million today is what it might be in two years if we don’t do something,” said Savage.

Neil Samson has been using the Forum parking lot as a taxi stand for the past 35 years.

Rick Ross is set to expand his kingdom soon with the pending purchase of a luxury crib smack dab in the celeb hotbed of Miami Beach’s secluded Star Island.

Sources with direct knowledge of the sale tell TMZ Hip Hop … Rozay is under contract to buy a 6-bedroom, 9-bathroom mansion for a cool $37 million!!!

We’re told the sale is expected to close in the next few weeks, and Ross plans on shelling out even more big dough to renovate the palace to his liking.
