Biden is planning White House events marking the January 6 attacks

(Reuters) – US President Joe Biden plans to mark the second anniversary of the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol with a White House ceremony, according to a timetable released by his office on Monday.

Friday’s event will mark a rare moment for Biden to address immediate issues sparked by deadly riots by supporters of his Republican predecessor Donald Trump. Their actions interfered with the Democrats’ 2020 victory certification.

Biden condemned the unrest as a threat to democracy and the rule of law, but he has rarely discussed his predecessor’s name publicly and has framed his presidency to unify and heal the country’s partisan divisions.

Entering his third year in office, Biden said he intends to seek another four-year term but has not formally nominated him.

Dezeen School Shows: a lamp made out of recycled leather from the sports car industry and light consisting of a cluster of tubes are included in Dezeen’s latest school show by students at the University of East London.

Texas is famous for its unparalleled barbecue, its gargantuan size, and—arguably our favorite reason—the collection of castle-like homes scattered across its hills, mountains, and plains. One such property, a seven-bedroom lakehouse in Chandler, belongs to lifestyle influencer Lauren Kay Sims, who is known for her fashion and style blogging, and her musings on building what she calls “a radiant life.”

As part of her pursuit of radiance, she enlisted Urbanology Designs’ principal designer and owner, Ginger Curtis, to help ensure their new vacation house would reflect her family’s style, without doing an entire remodel. It’s in the acceptable setting of Hedgerow, a highly sought after, peaceful neighborhood in Montecito between the ocean and the upper village, and it was built on a secluded plot with a stunning garden, and views of the Montecito mountains beyond.

It’s a truly idyllic place to vacation. But there were some interior design challenges to overcome before it became the perfect retreat, as designer Hayley English (opens in new tab) found out.

FRANKFORT — Republican House Speaker David Osborne says his GOP supermajority in the House plans to pass a bill this week that would continue to cut state income taxes, a big priority for the GOP leadership. telegram long before this year’s legislative session.

Osborne on day one of the legislative session said House Bill 1, the vehicle for further income tax cuts introduced Tuesday, would likely pass the House on Thursday.
