Welcome to Tiny Cottage (Empty House Tour!)

It’s done (well, major construction is done, but there’s a lot more to be done on the outside). My parents now live in Tiny Cottage (SO FUN!), but before they moved in and settled in, I took some quick pictures so you can see how adorable it looks even empty! Don’t worry though, if you love this tiny cottage as much as I do, my mom will let me share it again and again, so it won’t be the last time you see it. 🙂

If you are new here, this Tiny Cottage is actually part of our house, you can enter it through our mud room or garage. However, this is a self contained house! This is really a small cottage about 450 square feet but has its own outside entrance, DARLING kitchen, bathroom/laundry, corner bed, sitting

5 Beautiful Bathrooms: Sunday Strolls & Scrolls

I think one of the most exciting things about our almost-finished kitchen remodel is that it means we’re about to finish cooking in our bathroom! Ha! I wish our bathrooms were bathrooms again. We’ll also have an extra “new” bathroom now that my parents have their little cottage! We haven’t changed that bathroom at all since we moved in so it would be a nice opportunity to do some simple updates to personalize it. Our powder bathroom downstairs with whale wallpaper also got a fresh coat of paint this week! The beautiful bathrooms in today’s post inspired me, hope you enjoy them!

Sunday Walk + Roll is a series inspired by the interiors and exterior spaces that I fell in love with while surfing the internet. I really enjoy finding spaces and ideas that reflect a sense of protection! I hope this series will be as relaxing and enjoyable

How to Turn Your Home Into a Sanctuary

When I started The Inspired Room in 2007, my “slogan” was Perfect Your Home for Authentic Living. Even though I don’t use that tagline now, it still fits with my home philosophy. While we’ve certainly embarked on some larger renovations over the years, I truly find the greatest joy in the smaller enhancements one can make to one’s surroundings. I believe it is refining a process that can make any home your home.

FILTER: improve (something) by making small changes, especially making (an idea, theory, or method) more refined and accurate.

When we understand how to enhance our environment and know how to make the right adjustments, the impact on a space will be significant in all the ways that really matter.
