Clawfoot’s cast iron tub will never go out of style, but the builder-quality jetted soaking tubs seen in many homes are getting a little tired. Often built around tiles, these giants are as ugly as they are difficult to clean. This year, more people will be using a reasonable-sized freestanding tub in an attractive shape to make their bathroom feel more like a spa. See-through tubs and Japanese-style soaking tubs are standout choices, like this striking red tub from Cassa Design.

Welcome to Tiny Cottage (Empty House Tour!)

It’s done (well, major construction is done, but there’s a lot more to be done on the outside). My parents now live in Tiny Cottage (SO FUN!), but before they moved in and settled in, I took some quick pictures so you can see how adorable it looks even empty! Don’t worry though, if you love this tiny cottage as much as I do, my mom will let me share it again and again, so it won’t be the last time you see it. 🙂

If you are new here, this Tiny Cottage is actually part of our house, you can enter it through our mud room or garage. However, this is a self contained house! This is really a small cottage about 450 square feet but has its own outside entrance, DARLING kitchen, bathroom/laundry, corner bed, sitting

I think one of the most exciting things about our almost-finished kitchen remodel is that it means we’re about to finish cooking in our bathroom! Ha! I wish our bathrooms were bathrooms again. We’ll also have an extra “new” bathroom now that my parents have their little cottage! We haven’t changed that bathroom at all since we moved in so it would be a nice opportunity to do some simple updates to personalize it. Our powder bathroom downstairs with whale wallpaper also got a fresh coat of paint this week! The beautiful bathrooms in today’s post inspired me, hope you enjoy them!

We’re still waiting on some final finishing details in our kitchen (so if you come across something that looks unfinished, don’t worry!). I’ve been trying to get some paint colors done for the painters so I’ve been working on that, but in the meantime, I can’t wait to break out some of the stuff I’ve been saving for our kitchen! I’ll be sharing some of them today!

The good news is that we’ll probably be able to “move in” to the kitchen this week, although there are still some details to be finalized as well as ongoing projects around the house (like our deck, living room/mudroom). /entrance/painted stairs, new wooden stair treads and upstairs, plus Tiny Cottage!).

Design Experts Explain How to Add Warmth to Your All-White Bathroom

The accessories you choose can breathe new life into a room, and like textiles, they’re easy to mix up whenever you want a change. “Think about incorporating natural elements, such as warmer teak or earthenware storage tubes for cotton swabs and toothbrushes, as these small countertop items lend personality and softness to your bathroom,” suggests Black. Play around with floating bamboo shelves, towel racks featuring heavy grain and wicker baskets. If you want to go big, consider vessel sinks that deviate from standard porcelain and feature imperfect shapes of stone or wood.

Texture can be present in more than just the fabric; wall art and sculpture add great volume and texture to a room. “Hanging wall art is also an essential accessory to bring warmth to your space,” explains Black. “It can be a work of art, a painting, or a print or a photograph – there are no rules
